a way to Jesus

Matt is home this weekend, which we are all loving! Yesterday afternoon one of his friends and student's let the girls ride horses at their ranch, and they had just the VERY best time...They haven't talked about anything else since and I'm so thankful they had the chance!

Each day we've been making some kind of Christmas cookie and delivering them to neighbors, and this afternoon I drug everyone on a long walk and we found a display sleigh that Nora and Ben could have played on for hours.

Tomorrow Matt is preaching at a student's church in Jackson, just he and the worship team on camera...I'll post the link once it's done!

As we struggle to find our place, I remember with Jesus in the manger that He gets that. This world was SO obviously not His home, and it's just as much so (but not as obvious at times) not ours. Our place is in Him and for Him, and He very clearly and strongly--years ago when our childhood home was sold--promised me that HE would be the place we could always call home...that He would be where we could lie our heads.

In covid. In Mississippi. At Christmas.

As I fight to rest there, we pray, all of us, throughout our days...
that those who are lonely,
those who are hurting,
those who are sick,
those who are so lost this Christmas,
that He would bring them to our attention, and show us a way to bring JESUS this Christmas.
