The team is hard at it, gardening, painting, screening and cleaning all kinds of things. Lily adores having teams of young people here, convinced she is one of them and anxious to do whatever they are doing. Tomorrow, that means her first trip ever (so sad) to the Citadel, and she is SO excited!
This afternoon they head to the orphanage where Sofia goes to school for an afternoon playdate, and both our girls are PUMPED to see their friends and to introduce them to their new friends. I am really really excited about a potential nap. Ah, I feel so old.
Yesterday while Lily was helping the team paint, one of the boys told her he was from New Jersey.
"I've been there!" Lily said.
"Yeah? Do you know what the capital of New Jersey is?"
"Um," Lily said. "It's N. And the second capital is J."
She was so confused as to why everyone was laughing, but I have convinced her it is sheerly her brilliance :) We love this girl.
Matt has safely arrived in America, but is still traveling all over the place trying to get to Kansas City. I hear it's cold...I'm sure he won't mind!
Meanwhile, Lucner, Fanfan, Leme and I are plugging away at the office, interviewing lots of men and women who would like to be students, finishing registration, collecting payments, putting together food orders for the new semester, finishing course rosters, getting ready for visiting professors, etc. Five VP's and Matt hit the ground running Saturday, and Monday everybody is back to class, Lily and Sofie included.
For today...
