what would it look like?

It is God who is at work in you, both to will (to want) and to work for His good pleasure.
Phil. 2:13

Is it God that is at work in me?  Or is the world...is life...is worry...is ME what is at work in me?

God, be at work in me!  Show me where You desire to be working, show me how to let you prepare me and use me for your work!  Mop where you need to mop, dust where you need to dust, demolish what you need to.

Remind me, Lord: The Almighty, He is at work in ME!

To help me WANT His good pleasure... We don't even have to WANT by ourselves, through our own strength.  He'll even help us there!  Help me to WANT your pleasure, above all else.  Help me to will your glory.

To help me WORK for His good pleasure...  Help me work!  Not work for success, not work for numbers, not work for my glory.  Not work for satisfaction, not to impress, not work for ME.  Help me not work for me!  Help me not work for others!

But to work for your pleasure (without grumbling and complaining).  To will and to work for His good pleasure!

Of every decision
of every action
of every prayer
of every step
of every thought
of every dollar
of every sentence
of every tear
and every laugh
every want and
every will...

How many do I do every day with MY greatest pleasure in mind?

What would my life look like if I laughed and cried and prayed and did and loved and worked and thought and spent with
God's greatest pleasure as my goal?

  1. This is beyond convicting. "Many are called, few are chosen." Great post.

Matt and Stacey, we just had a dinner and debriefing at Dr. Jay and Lynelle Allison's home with most of the team that was in Cap Haitian at the OMS compound in Dec. of 2010 I am sending them your Blog address.

May the Lord bless you, and the Haitians, and the other missionaries there in His work!
