Yesterday morning we took Sharon to the airport, finally heading back to Kansas after several weeks of traveling the world with the Ayars....like a crazy person.
Exactly what we needed--a close friend who knew us all well, a Haitian-Creole speaker, a friend to all our friends in Haiti, another adult, a picture taker, a homeschool teacher, an extra set of loving, understanding hands, another driver, family, sounding block, advisor, friend...exactly what we needed was exactly Sharon--probably ONLY Sharon.
She knew it before we did and offered and planned and helped and sacrificed and intentionally travelled land, sky and sea with four small cross-cultural children and two parents who had an awful lot going on in their days, hearts and minds.
We couldn't have done it without Christ through Aunt Sharon...His peace, His wisdom, His grace, His love that she exemplified to us, living alongside, again and again and again.
What I really needed, helping our children, supporting Matt, processing my heart out, was an abandoned person who knows and loves Jesus and knows and loves us WELL (and the husband and team who supported HER well).
When people want to know how we're related, all I know to say is "by grace."
so thankful, and pray that one day I will be in someone's life the grace and good Sharon has been in ours.
I love love love your relationship!!
