another thing I needed

We needed Wednesday's beautiful service, Matt left Thursday morning, and today we got the other thing I needed :)  A beautiful day at the beach!

From here, it feels like Haiti could never have any problems...like nothing could ever be wrong. Like all there is is brotherhood and beauty...compared to being in town last night filled with mud and garbage and fighting, and it felt like there could never be anything beautiful.

It made me thankful--as we floated past wooden fishing boats with handmade nets and patchwork sails, as we floated past glorious mountain after glorious mountain--that our God doesn't just sit on the throne of heaven and look down at our circumstances. It made me thankful that He sent Jesus down in the mud with us, that His perspective is both above and beyond AND beside and behind.

This perspective of Haiti today is TRUE, but there is much more to it than this.  My perspective on my life may have some truth to it for sure, but praise the Lord that HIS perspective goes far deeper and wider.

Even when I'm in the muddiest and most heartbreaking of valley-places, alongside His people, I can trust that He is with us, and that His view of the mountains and oceans remain.
