be Jesus, let God be God

We had just a lovely time at Wesley last night, meeting staff and board members and lots of spouses, and I was so thankful for a chance to meet a few of the people I've heard Matt and others talk about, and to meet so many wonderful front and back row family in Christ. President Dr. John Neihof suddenly passed away in March of 2019, and his dear wife Beth and another lovely board member organized the evening. They put together such an intentional time and were a true blessing to me (you should have seen the amazing cake Beth made!), as were the lovely neighbors who loved on our kids for that time! I don't have any other (or actual good :) pictures from the night, but I'm thankful for this one Morgan took, board member and mama of four and quickly becoming a good friend...I know the importance of a good, trusted translator in any new place, and that's been Morgan again and again!

We were also able to have more time with the board chair and his wife today from Atlanta, and I'm thankful to have finally met them.

Tomorrow Matt leaves for Alabama, as a speaker at the Annual Conference for the Association of Independent Methodists. He'll be with some old friends and new, and has been looking forward to this for a while!

The girls and I spoke to Gertha for a bit today and she is doing ok, as is Micheline, though no one has much information on her in Mexico. Everyone is very anxious for schools, businesses and borders to get open again, prices continuing to sky-rocket, fuel shortages persisting, and continual political instability.  She said our mango trees are overflowing, and she is peeling, cubing and freezing them for Ben and Nora, their very favorite.

I've been following a marriage class these past 7 weeks, and I'm signing off tonight with a simple idea that has me thinking.

You be Jesus, and let God be God.

What a simple powerful path for us as Christ-followers.

In our marriages, in our relationships, in our problems, in our concerns, in our struggles and victories, fears and faith...be Jesus in them...and let God be God.

Our summer newsletter is coming soon along with our new prayer card...if you're not typically on that mailing list and would like to be, email me your address!

Love you and so grateful for your prayers.
