I can't tell you how good it is to have Matt home. He is still struggling with jet lag, but from our staff to our students to Ben, we're all just glad to have him safely back...and having his birthday pumpkin pie, several weeks late, for breakfast.
We are still waiting and praying for fuel, we are still having class and chapel and today the staff and students still spent the afternoon in the community, sharing the Gospel and teaching the ever-growing children's Bible study in one yard, youth Bible study on campus, and adult Bible study in a different yard.
There's a lot of talk about these next few days. Tensions are high.
But ever since the Lord gave me peace about HIM being in control and not counting on me to DO something about things I cannot possibly do anything about, I just have peace.
There's a lot of talk. There are many needs.
But I am committed to there being a lot of prayer, too.
There are many battles, daily, between light and dark, a LOT of spiritual battles happening right now in this country, and in yours, too. I am fighting those on my knees, to the One who can STOP attacks of evil, the One who can confuse the efforts of wicked men, the One who can protect the men and women and children of Haiti. We are fighting these battles with courageous prayer because they are HIS TO FIGHT, and He will not be overcome.
He has more than conquered even death...there is nothing for us in any of these struggles but peace and prayer and prayers for peace.
Please be praying with us.
Continue to pray with us for fuel and open roads, for evil to be thwarted, for courage for His people, for peace in the hearts of His children and for peace for Haiti, pray for true and lasting change, pray for the many seeds that are being planted and the many hurting people looking to the Lord perhaps for the first time in their lives. Pray for our staff and students and brothers and sisters throughout the country, living and sharing the Gospel verbally and physically in a time of complete despair and hopelessness for nonbelievers. Pray that God would continue to give wisdom and peace and provision. Pray for the many, many who are suffering, that in suffering, many might find Him close and step out in faith on Him.
Thank you, loved ones.
10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we[d] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.[e] 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.[f] 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
