bon voyage

Matt made it safely to the Cap-Haitian airport early today before things heated up in town, spent the day at the airport, though their lack of fuel made it a h-o-t all day wait.  His flight to Miami was at 5 pm, arrived safely, and is currently on a plane to Texas, where he'll spend the night and tomorrow will fly from Dallas to Seoul, a 14 hour (but air-conditioned!) flight.

As he waited to board his Dallas flight, he plopped down next to a man on the phone. After Matt sat down, the man began speaking...in Haitian Creole...about the current crisis in Haiti. Sometimes, you just can't run from your problems :)

Then, while boarding, he received an email from one of his South Korea contacts, urging him to remember to bring his full suit and tie.

That, he did not do.

I was very blessed by all the local friends who stopped in, called and texted today, (and Shelley even sent some guys on a moto with CHOCOLATE and crafts for the girls!) checking up that he made it safely to the airport, that we were all doing ok, etc. What a gift, the body of Christ.

So thankful and grateful for your prayers, and for the genuine peace that passes human understanding, tonight.

And that God looks at our hearts...not our clothes :)

  1. praying for you often as I usually do... but maybe with a bit more urgency.
