neighbors and onward!

The Edlers and the Leavells made it safely back to Haiti today and the girls are just ecstatic to have their neighbors back again!  While the girls were testing today at school, Nora played all day with Granny's little girl...and I was so thankful for a kiddo for her. Grateful to now have some little ones next door again!! Praying for everyone and all the transitions!

Today, another slew of potential students took their entrance exams, and I'm just excited to meet the men and women God's bringing to Emmaus. I love the role Emmaus is able to play in their transformation and calling and spiritual development, and I love the role our students play in stretching and growing and transforming Emmaus.

A big focus for Emmaus this year is what we're teaching and how we're teaching it.  Are we teaching all that is needed? Are there things our students need to be more effective pastors and teachers and evangelists and spouses and leaders and preachers that we should be focusing on? Is it being taught in an effective, transforming, meaningful way?

I love that Matt is never content to leave well-enough alone.  Confession, sometimes I also hate that Matt is never content to leave well-enough alone :)  While I am a "things are good, don't rock the boat" person, Matt is always looking at how we can do better.  How we can meet people with Jesus more effectively? How we can stretch the resources we have further? How we can give our very best for the kingdom TODAY, not just yesterday? How can we do better in the classroom, in the cafeteria, in the yard, in the village, in Haiti, in God's kingdom?  God's got him where He has him for a reason, and I praise the Lord!

Today involved a lotta sweaty kids and a lot of cooking, so I am out. It's a lot, these lives He's given us! I thank Him for a life full of people He loves.
