moving on!

It's August, in the Caribbean, in Haiti.  So this realllly doesn't need to be said.

But it is SO incredibly hot.  The only hope is to REFUSE to think about it, to trick yourself into thinking that sweating, and melting, and pouring, and sticking are normal...and to get to water when you can!

This morning we worshipped with our family at a good friend and board member's church...but then learned that he is in Boston.  Probably because it's August, in the Caribbean, in Haiti :)
It was still a great service, even if Matt looked like this after about six minutes.
Then we headed a little deeper into town...

And found this sweaty, toothy boy some water!
It was great to spent the Sabbath catching up on good family time (we missed Dad!) and with Rick and Carol, and to have a little bit of reprieve in some very-warm-but-still pool water, and someone else who made us lunch! Ben also took his first bunch of steps yesterday, and now he's sold on figuring this walking thing out!
Ben is a fish just like his sisters, who spent all afternoon getting tossed around by dad :)

This evening we kicked off a new year of weekly missionary meetings, having dinner together, planning for the new week, talking through concerns, and having Matt catch us all up on board meetings!  This is a busy last week, preparing for students to return on the 12th, welcoming back the Edlers and the Leavells, the girls have final testing so they can officially move on to the next grade (we left in June before they were able to finish!) and He knows what else.

Grateful for His word and the confidence we have--no matter how hot it is, no matter what is on the table, no matter what there is to do--in Him.
