grace

I know this is going to come as a total shock to everyone, but after a full month of being a human kleenex, kissing hot foreheads, and trying to get every sniffy little person to STOP. DRINKING. MOM'S. WATER.... mama's burning up herself and feeling all the awful feelings everyone else has been struggling through.

Bleh.

I'm counting it all grace after grace, because when everyone was miserable and needed me, I was healthy and good. When graduation passed the four hour mark, I was firing full cylinders. When I needed to be burning at both ends and up countless times a night, I was.  He graciously sustained me so well, and this week--the first week after a crazy busy school year, and the last week before master's classes and visitors resume--is a good week to be sick.  Sweet Ben is finally sweet-but-snotty Ben again, and Lily's fever has broken and she's on the rebound.

We've also been in a season of praying adamantly lately for several people in grave situations, and it helps keep it all in perspective.  From praying for Brynn, a little girl with lung cancer undergoing major surgery this week, to praying for Yves and Paulcine's son, still undergoing numerous surgeries putting rods throughout his body, to praying for Obed's father, undergoing dialysis and fighting for his life, leaving the hospital just long enough to see his son graduate, and heading right back the moment the ceremony was over, a smile on his face and peace in his eyes, because God sustained him to see it happen.
Yes, just grace upon grace.

pray with us, and I'm going back to bed
