Look who's here!!
Lisa and her precious family were supposed to come two weeks ago, and then obviously couldn't. Matt's parents were supposed to come for Christmas and then couldn't. And so we've been counting our blessings instead this Christmas break without family...and then these two came yesterday for the New Year and for Lily's big 1-0 birthday! We're thankful...having family here is just a blessing, to love on the kiddos and to do some fun things with.
Today we took them to the beach today...they got each of the girls some cool new snorkel gear from Christmas...and had an awesome day.
Of course, the girls always find a puppy they desperately need at the beach ;)
As soon as we left Nora settled into her carseat for a long winter's nap and happily said, "That was So. Much. Fun." She lovvvveeeessss to swim, though her teeth were chattering.
It IS chilly for Haiti, but I still had to crack up this morning at 6 am when Sofie and Nora were wandering the yard in a toboggan and life-jacket :)
The girls were up eeeaaarrrlllly this morning, so I got breakfast in the oven and we all went for a walk and I climbed up the tower to get some sunrise photos...what a beautiful country, and what a beautiful setting for Emmaus!
Tomorrow, dad and Matt have a huge project of getting beds. Since Ben was born, he's been in the crib and Nora has been sleeping on the floor. Since our friends left Haiti and left behind their bunk beds, we've been wanting to get them, but it's a huge undertaking and going to take some work! Thankfully, we have an engineer with us! stay tuned!
