The girls were NOT ready to go back to school, draggy and moaning and groaning as they were pulled out of bed Monday morning, braided and fed...then the school decided not to start until Wednesday and sent all the kids home...and then they were weepy because they didn't get to play with their friends. Lesson : You cannot win. Just do your thing.
Staff meeting last night was a busy one, getting ready for a large medical team coming Saturday, who will be doing mobile medical and dental clinics at our student/staff churches in Flavil, Fev, DiFour, Coup-a-David and Saccanville all week next week alongside of staff/student translators and helpers. That means lots of cooking, lots of medicine purchases, and lots of arranging and Emily's all over it! Lesson : When the Heckmans switch from full-time to short-term next year, we're going to be in trouble. Is that a lesson?
The same day they fly in, Matt flies out for (below). If you're one of our NJ/PA/DE family, from Sharptown Church or not, he would love to see you, and if you've come through Easter but are really looking for a fresh way to dig deeper, get over there. Matt's been teaching through the Psalms here at EBS all semester and is passionate about this book, about teaching, and about helping believers DIG. It also looks like there is a lot of food involved :) Lesson: Good Bible teaching and good food = win-win.
Beginning Sunday during morning worship and continuing Sunday through Tuesday evenings at 7 pm, Matt will be here to teach on the Kingdom Prayers found in the Psalms. Rev. Dr. Matt Ayars is the President of Emmaus Biblical Seminary in Cap Hatian, Haiti and a former (always) Sharptownian!
