pie and theology

It was a busy weekend >SHOCKER< with showing CETA people around town and them heading out, a big (picture 3+ hours) powerful church service at Belony's Sunday with Dr. Peter Stroude (Trinidad) preaching and 3+ hours translating for Matt, and three more visitors coming in, Dr. Abson Joseph teaching for our Indiana Wesleyan University Master's Class that started today (Exegetical Analysis of the Gospels), Dr. Joe Oshomubwe of Nigeria/Oklahoma teaching for our Master's of the Arts in Christian Leadership program (Economics, Finance and Administration for Leadership), and "Bubba" John McCluskey working for a different ministry, but staying with us for the week!  In addition, both girls have end-of-the-quarter testing this week, so are to school every day testing in Math, Science, History, French and Grammar.

Dr. Stroude preached an awesome message out of Matthew 25 differentiating between the five virgins who were ready for the Groom, and the five that weren't.

Nora's always about making friends...

Following the message time, the church spent over an hour in prayer, repentance, forgiveness and preparing...

At the end of the service, deeply moved, Belony pointed out to the congregation that God has now sent them the true Gospel all the way from Trinidad, translated by an American, and a tiny church in Haiti, and they have HEARD it...noting the saddest thing would be to have been there Sunday, and walk away unchanged.

Belony's church didn't use to be a walk, but the major land bridge near him is ALL but washed out...so now it is!

Matt, Peter, Belony, and second year student Jhonny.

All these visitors means the evenings are full of pie and theology.  Emily's away for a few days with Haylie, so Phil and I were smiling and nodding together Sunday night :)  Very thankful to have some great men here right now, pouring the Gospel into our students and staff!!
