You know you're in Haiti when you are introduced as the chapel speaker of the morning with, "Toooooday, we have a special speaker, because why? Because she is a WOMAN. It is Madame Stacey, and she is a woman. So, let us clap!"
Yep, Haiti has been good for humbling my closet feminist :) Thankful for the opportunity, even as a woman, to share with others what God is showing me through His Word. Thankful that God works and speaks and appears to His children, not just His sons. Thankful for the precious men and women we get to share and live His Word with.
The day started today with the Doberman trying to eat the kitten, who thought sneaking outside at 5:30 am would be fun. After many war wounds and a saved, smarter cat, we had a great Saturday together...playing outside in puddles, watching Christmas movies, catching up on homeschool, and playing in the sprinkler (yeah, I bet not a lot of kids where you are were playing in the sprinkler today). These girls are just SO funny and happy and a joy to have the day with.
Tomorrow we are off with Junior to hear him preach at Rose's church plant (first year student)...then getting ready for a big ole' week of final exams (for all our classes and for Lily), final registration for next semester, staff Christmas party, student Christmas party, student soccer championship, student talent show, Christmas movie night, missionary/student Christmas Carol night. Wow. There is a lot going on this week.
Resting in His completed work instead of waiting to rest in mine.
