community

Here's our first year class...finally!  They are never all here on the same days, and turns out Tuesday is the day.  And nobody wants to smile.  Yet again.

But Phida, she can't help but smile.  I really like her.  This is a special class, and they are real friends, and I love to see them build those relationships and help each other as they live and grow and learn here in Haiti.
Haiti is truly a beautiful place, but I gotta say, it's starting to heat up around here.  Your spring, our summer.  Your summer, our inferno.
This girl is 4.  Have I mentioned that?  Four.  Different than three.  Like, realized she can think on her own, and can call some shots.  And can obey.  If she decides to.

OH man.  I now remember always making fun of my mom having some kind of an obsession with James Dobson and Focus on the Family...and I remembered that while spending the afternoon on their web site :)
This photo popped up today of when Sofie and Ella were tiny.  SO darn cute.  This has nothing to do with anything.  Just cute.
Lily, she just wants to watch Dora.  Just 15 minutes, at the end of a school then prayer meeting in Vaudreil then late night home, day. But Sofie, she doesn't care a whit about TV.  She just wants to snuggle.  ALL the time.

We've all been sick and are trying to get over these colds (I know...I said that NOT that long ago.  This is round...6.)

Graduation and the end of the school year seems to be rushing in, with lots of fourth year meetings, Matt helping them finish of their memoirs, creating graduation invitations, starting to plan for the huge alumni day the day before graduation, etc.

What used to feel overwhelming in all of that now feels very community based:  Matt, Lucner, Vilmer, Fanfan, Belony, Giselaine, the students, all doing their parts and giftings, all working together to bring it all together...  We're blessed to to have these students, these girls, and these brothers and sisters to live life with!
