For several months now, we’ve been having increased water issues: poor water pressure, lack of water, etc. Matt’s been asking several people over the past months to put in an additional water pump, but the replacement was expensive, things kept coming up, and/or no one was here to do it. Finally, on Thursday, a replacement arrived, and someone was supposed to come yesterday to replace our old pump.
However, yesterday they never showed, and so we figured maybe sometime next week.
Last night, while we were watching a movie with our friends, we noticed that there was no water, and after about 30 minutes outside in the dark, Matt and Troy, a visiting welder, discovered that our water pump was DONE. Couldn’t do one more thing, dead.
“Hey,” Matt says, “there just so happens to be a BRAND new water pump right here that came yesterday!”
A few hours later, Matt, Troy, Maxi, Jerry and Tom (who says visiting professors can only teach J?) had our new water pump installed and water flowing.
Wow. I mean, the pump JUST CAME on Thursday. And our current pump died completely on Friday. We could have been weeks without water. We could have had NO one here that knew how to replace it. We could have had some major problems. Instead, after a few hours, it was done.
“I’ll never forget tonight,” a very dirty and tired and happy Matt shared last night when he finally came in. “Again, another true work of the Lord. That pump has worked for five years, and there is NO coincidence that it lasted until the day we got a new one and had a friend here to replace it!”
Pretty crazy stuff, being recipients of His love and being in the palm of His hand.
We never realize at the time what God is putting us through—we go through it more or less without understanding. Then suddenly we come to a place of enlightenment, and realize—‘God has strengthened me and I didn’t even know it!’—O Chambers
Still haven’t shared the biggest testimony from this past week…we’ve been having some pretty extreme internet issues! Will do this weekend…
how wonderful. perfect timing. I'm not surprised.
