Gatlinburg

We arrived safely Thursday night and so far everything has been just blissful.  Gatlinburg and the Smokey Mountains are just gorgeous, our cabin in the woods has been beautiful and restful (complete with hot tub…ie, Lily’s swimming pool…pool table and king sized beds!), and we’ve had a lot of great time together as a family, playing Scrap Out, eating BBQ and sitting on the porch.

This time was just exactly what we needed as we wind down from a busy 8 weeks out of Haiti and prepare for an even busier new year and a lot of travel with 2 little ones in the days ahead.

Matt’s hope for good coffee and lots of time reading is already taking place, I got to take a bath today for the first time in at least a year, Lily LOVES downtown Gatlinburg, complete with street performers and candy shops, and Sofie…well, she’s pretty happy as long as she’s never put down, and with so much loving family around, she’s been in heaven.

Saturday we’re meeting up with the Bundy’s for lunch and Maria and Elisa, our good friends from college, are driving in from Atlanta for the weekend.

Very very thankful for this wonderful opportunity for rest and restoration before leaving next week!!!

***To answer Kajoob’s question, we lived in Sherbrook, Canada and attended Parole de Vie language school in order to learn French before moving to Haiti.
