"lòt bò" and back again

America is frequently referred to in Haiti as "the other side", or "lòt bò"...and after a fast few days, we are on our way back again!  Tomorrow morning we leave the hotel at 4:30 am for Haiti.  We came with 3 empty suitcases and a full carry-on, and after a trip to Target and Wal-Mart, we're heading back loaded down with beach toys, decaf coffee, a long-desired waffle maker and some fantastic memories.

Lily is a FISH, constantly telling you "don't touch her" so that she can swim on her own.  We must have spent at least 24 hours in the pool these past three days :)  The fact that she lives in a warm climate and therefore can swim year round is a blessing!

It also means that her first "snow angel" was in the sand :)

She's very blessed to have Aunt "Sheesha", who is endlessly creative, patient and loving.  Lily was very sad to see her go at the "air-pot" this evening.  Being away from family is always so hard!

All five of us rotated in and out of the pool with Lily, but she out-swam us all.  So blessed and thankful to have had this short break from school and in Florida (with all of it's wonderful sour cream, ice cream, hummus and pizza!) and for this precious time with family!

Finally, a few of you have asked about this picture.  Back row from left to right is Bubba (John), John, Matt and Bill (Julie's fiance).  Middle row is Rachelle, Josephine, Sophie and I, Julie and Lily, and bottom row is Hannah and Jacob. The only other missionary we live with NOT pictured here is Dodo (Dorothy), who was taking the picture for us.

Julie and Bill returned to Northern Ireland and Canada Monday, pursuing His "next step" for them both.  The wedding is scheduled for August!  Hannah returns to Oregon on Thursday, prayerfully pursing His call in her life, too!  We miss these dear friends!  They are full of His love and His joy, and times with Julie and Hannah are always full of laughter.

We'll let you know when we're safely home (both at least 5 pounds heavier!) tomorrow!
