we are ok!

This is the first time we've been able to get online since the earthquake last night, and we are getting a pouring in of concerned emails and prayers...THANK YOU!...

We are all fine! We (with the whole team/visitors) were all together for a weekly prayer service, and were right in the middle of singing of hymn when the whole room started shaking, and everyone kept looking at each other, like "Did you just shake my chair?" and finally John, who was standing, was about knocked over, soeveryone sat and waited it out, and then the shaking continued for about a minute...It was REALLY crazy, never felt anything like it.

Nothing fell to the floor, but it was definitely quite intense, and felt like God had His hands on the house we were all in and was just gently shaking it.

No one panicked (though my heart missed a few beats because Lily was elsewhere with a sitter, who said Lily never even realized anything was happening) and all is well. 7.2, it looks like, and our first earthquak... It was only Harold Brown's second, and his first was in Haiti 40 years ago! Many friends said they were just sure the Lord was coming back, and are now disappointed...

The men just moved into EBS yesterday, and we very panicked about sleeping on the bottom floor of a two story building. They were spending long periods of time in fearful prayer yesterday evening, until the watchman, a young believer from Sakenville, approached them and said, "Why are you afraid? Is not our God the one in control? If we all died tonight, wouldn't we be with Him, then? We have all reason to be at peace and no reason to fear!"

What an amazing testimony to us each, so with a prayer for friends, family and countrymen everyone slept.

We felt several more tremors back throughout the evening, but not as intense as earlier.

We have not yet heard from our friends in Port-au-Prince, and as far as I know, everything/everyone in the North is ok, including 4VEH. We'll keep you posted as we have internet.

THANK YOU for your prayers and emails, and please continue to pray...Thank you...

Have you ever in your life commanded the morning,
And caused the dawn to know its place?
Have you entered into the springs of the sea
or walked in the recesses of the deep?
Have the gates of death been revealed to you
or have you seen the gates of deep darkness?
Have you understood the expanse of the earth?
Where is the way to the dwelling of light?
Has the rain a father?
Who has given the frost it's birth?
Do you know the ordinances of the heavens,
or fix their rule over the earth?
Can you send forth lightning?
Who has put wisdom in the innermost being?
Job 38
I AM.

  3. It was such a joy to read your message. We have been praying since last evening. We had heard on the news that Cap Haitien felt the quake but had little damage so we were glad. We have heard from friends at Lifeline Christian Mission in Grand Goave and they had extensive damage. A team of 38 women from the US was there and some were hurt, one with broken ribs, but they have no way to get to P-a-P for treatment. Thankfully several on the trip are nurses. We will continue to pray!!

  5. Yay! We got the message from your dad via Grandpa last night that you were accounted for, but have been praying without ceasing for you all, and for the country. Our Earth is a mysterious planet, and it's such a relief to know we are not alone on it, that it is held in loving hands. Hugs and kisses to you all

  14. Praise God! There are a lot of people who want to provide financial assistance for those in need. Can you guys provide a recommendation for a company to donate to that ensures all of the money goes directly to Haiti?

  24. I am so glad to hear you are alright, you were one of the last ones I heard from. Everyone at my mission is safe...PRAISE GOD. One missionaries husband was in Port-A-Prince getting supplies but he is ok. Still there helping. My friend here in the states taking Physical therapy a few minutes ago just heard from his family after no word for over 27 hours...PRAISE GOD.

I wanted to share this with you

I was laying in Bed emotionally exhausted can't imagine how you must feel, but I felt like I should not go to bed without picking my Bible up. I picked it up and started off where God spoke Yesterday morning did not mean as much as when I re-read it last night after everything that happened Ps 121 then I moved on I reached Ps 126:6 "He who goes out weeping, carring seed to sow, will return with songs of Joy, carrying sheaves with him." The footnote said- God's ability to restore life is beyond our understading, Forests burn down and are able to grow back. Broken bones heal. Even GREIF is not a permanent condition. Our tears[which we have all shed alot the past 24 hours] will grow into a harvest of joy because God is able to bring good out of tragedy. When burdnened by sorrow, know that your times of greit will end and that you agin will find joy. We must be patient as we wait. God's great harvest of joy is coming." WOW GOD YOU R AMAZING JUST WHAT I NEEDED TO HEAR TO GET GO TO BED!!!!!! Love you all, praying for you!!!!!

  25. I was getting phone calls from Cornerstone clients asking about you guys on the night of the quake. At first Barbara and Keith had no contact. but I was so relieved this morning when I saw Barbara and she said everyone in your family was fine.

After visiting Haiti, I feel like part of your family. Praise God that you were spared so you can continue to spread God's Word of "hope" to all the Haitians. HIS presence and guidance is needed even more in the country of Haiti.

Thank you for being there. I'll keep praying for all the people in Haiti.
