photos from Brett's trip to Port...
Thank you all for your continued prayers. I spent some GOOD time with Lucner this morning...YES, he is back safely, brought back his brother, who is now in a hospital in Cap with serious arm/back/internal injuries. Please be praying for him. It was fantastic to see Luke, and to have some time to talk with him. I know you're all hearing and seeing all you can handle on TV, so I'm not going to share his experiences, but thank you for your prayers for him and please continue to pray.
OMS met this morning and discussed our plan...there is a truck of supplies going down today to be held at OMS's Villa Ormisso, and distributed to all of the people around there who are camping out on the yard. TO GIVE: www.omsinternational.org. OMS is also working to broadcast Christian programming appropriate to the major need from 10 pm-2 am through a major station in Port-au-Prince.
CSI, Christian Service International (the organization all my prior trips to Haiti had been with), miraculously experienced NO injuries of staff members, of girls in their orphanage, of missionaries, of two visiting teams, NONE. They are working hard to get things set up to help as best they can, and are bringing in medical personal and others, and are working out of their clinic, which was not severely damaged. Please be praying for Greg Benson as he heads us this HUGE undertaking, and for them and all our brothers and sisters in Port as they continue to live in the midst of such horrific realities. TO GIVE or updates: www.csiministries.org
We are also working closely with Samaritans purse (TO GIVE: Samaritan's Purse) to get supplies to PAP, and with Missionary Flights International (TO GIVE: MFI) to get things in from the States and other countries. PLEASE do not send us boxes/care packages/gift for the next few weeks, just letters. All space on these flights should be reserved for emergency aid items only...I'll let you know when this changes. We will continue to get letter mail every Tuesday and Thursday. THANK YOU!
The decision is still being made about whether to close the Seminary or keep it running, as that fuel is short, public transportation is almost completely shut down to remote areas like Sakenville, getting students in/out...etc.
Praise the Lord for Adrienne, a friend living in Vaudreil, who has their own internet system that is WORKING (as you can see, by photos).
Lily is joyfully oblivious to all around her, and continues to be our ray of sunshine in the midst of dark times. The Lord's meeting us every single time we seek Him...every single time, through His Word and His Spirit, His children and His voice. We want to encourage you to keep seeking Him, to be firmly grounded in Him through this time...remember who He is, be firmly grounded in Him who makes the rough places smooth, Who makes a way where there is none, Who works when nothing else does, Who IS.
we love you...
Dear Ones, We are holding you in prayer. When we returned to Mozambique this week, we heard the news of Haiti. The earthquake happened while we were in the air. We are so very sad for you and all of the Haitians. Please relay our love to the Bundys and your team. We love you and our team and Palavra Viva churches are lifting you up in prayer. Much love, Dave and Ann Dedrick, OMS Mozambique
ReplyDeleteStacey, please give Lily a big hug and kiss from Uncle Martin & Aunt Sharon!! Thanks for the updates, we will of course pray as decisions are made and ministry accomplished. Good to hear that Luke is back with his brother. Please convey to him that we are praying for his family.

ReplyDeleteI just want you to know that prayers are covering you and the people of Haiti. The calls that I have received and mom has received this week at the church have been overwhelming. Everyone was checking on the three of you. I just want you to know New Bedford Church, PA sends their love and prayers. If there is anything we can do other than what you stated..just tell me.
Love Lori
