With heaviness of heart, O Lord,
we have uttered our hard goodbyes.
Today and in the days to come,
we will shed tears, and we will deeply miss
this one we love, but the fire of the hope
of their resurrection is it in our hearts.
we have uttered our hard goodbyes.
Today and in the days to come,
we will shed tears, and we will deeply miss
this one we love, but the fire of the hope
of their resurrection is it in our hearts.
This is not the end, Dad.
This is not AT ALL the end.
This is only the moment before
the better holiday begins.
And till that day when You make all
things new, we will hold fast to these promises,
sharing among us the burden of sorrow,
and nurturing together the flame of faith. Let us be
a community of those who weep boldly, and
with great hope, even as we go forth to invest our
remaining days in the building of your kingdom.

ReplyDeleteI’m so sorry, Stacey. I hurt with and for you—until the day when everything sad will come untrue. Come, Lord Jesus.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family picture. Malcolm got to hug each of those precious children. He’s at peace now, but he will be missed. Love and prayers to all of you.
