If any of you are 12-18 year old's near Jackson, Mississippi, I'm pretty sure Lily wrote me an advertisement today for GoLocal :). She's still glowing, and I'm still thankful...

GoLocal From My Perspective

--Lily

GoLocal was amazing. It wasn’t what I was expecting at all. I will never be the same, because of GoLocal. Not only was it fun, it was spiritually sacred and powerful. In the mornings, we did our personal devotions and ate breakfast. Then, we loaded up in the van, and went to work. The first two days, we went to The Mustard Seed, a day program for down syndrome adults. We clapped for the Seedsters that were participating in the “Olympics” and we weeded and worked. Then we came home, ate lunch, played jungle pong and giant four square until assembly. Assembly was when Isaiah played the guitar and Preston shared a message with us.

After assembly, we all split up into small groups. Every day was like this, except that we went to different places. On the night of the first day, we went to Defy Extreme Air Sports. Wednesday morning, we went to the abortion clinic to pray and hold signs. Then we went to John Hopkins Elementary to do yard work. On Thursday we went to John Perkins Foundation to weed and other things like that. That night, we went to The Millers house to play and eat dinner. Friday we had off, to rest and have fun. That night was the best assembly I ever went to. Several people shared their testimony, and now I wish that I had. By the time we were done, everyone was crying, including me, we were all hugging and laughing and sobbing. I felt the Spirit of the Lord among us, and it was just good.

If you are considering going to GoLocal next year, expect the best and most spiritually healthy and good week of your life.

I think she liked it :)

It is so good to have her home, and Matt got home during family dinner last night with the neighbors and Ms. Beth and the Millers.  This is our family week before Matt is off for two weeks, so we're soaking it in in the evenings!

Yesterday morning, Matt preached at First Independent Methodist Church of Decatur, AL. Last weekend he was at Capital City Church in Columbus, OH, and the link for that sermon on spiritual warfare is here: https://capcitychurch.live/livestream (Father's Day Message).  Yesterday morning while he was there, I was here, sharing from Ephesians 5 Marriage at our church, Foundry.  Goodness.  You can watch that message here : https://www.facebook.com/thisisfoundry/videos/558288695554713

We were all six in bed by 9 last night :)--whew!

and then there's this girl :)
