Even as Nora and I were taking our nightly walk this evening, dozens of students were still swarming the stage, hanging cloth and flowers, arranging chairs, all the women with their hair up in curlers and nets and all the guys doing whatever they were being told.
Pomp and circumstance is no joke.
It's gonna be a big day. There's a marching band coming, two choirs, and a slew of hundreds of family and friends, all on campus, all by 9 am. Ish. Matt's speaking a few times, most of our staff are playing different roles, and one of our adjunct professors is preaching!
Pray with us, will you, for some overcast skies tomorrow...it's supposed to be 90 degrees with 80 percent humidity...and graduation is
Meanwhile, I have decided it's not fair to make any pregnant woman after 30 weeks wear prom-wear. In the sun. When it's 90 degrees and 80 percent humidity. My ankles look like tree trunks, my feet like a strangers and not one of the dressiest dresses I have (none of them maternity dresses) come anywhere close to zipping or fitting how they should. After a depressing evening of sweating through all of them, I am wearing one of my teaching dresses and that is that. I may be the only woman there without sequins, and that will have to do.
Pray for these special men and women, for His call and direction in their lives, and I'm looking forward to sharing the day with you tomorrow!
