wandering, hungry, failing, in darkness...

No matter when I read His Word, no matter what is going on in life, it so often feels like the perfect fit.

Exactly what my heart needed reminded of, it reminds. What I need to hear, the truth at the end of the day, at the beginning, it's in His Word and no where else.

The wicked are like chaff that the wind blows away Psalm 1 reminds me.

They will not stand up in judgement, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

The Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.

Perhaps we need not worry so much about the wicked...seems it is covered.

Psalm 107 speaks to every hurting person I know...

Some wandered in the desolate wilderness, hungry and thristy, their spirits failing, and they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he rescued them.

Others sat in darkness and gloom, prisoners in cruel chains. They cried out the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress and brought them out of darkness.

Fools suffered affliction because of their rebellions ways and their iniquities, and they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; and He sent his word and healed them, He rescued them from the pit.

Others went to sea in ships, conducting trade on the waters. They saw the Lord's works, and they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper, and he guided them to the harbor they longed for.

Others still were hungry, and He turns a desert into a pool, they sow fields that yield a fruitful harvest.

Some our diminished and humbled by cruel oppression and sorrow, but He lies the needy out of their suffering and makes their families multiply like flocks. The upright see it and rejoice, and all injustice shuts it mouth.

Let whoever is wise pay attention to these things and consider the Lord's acts of faithful love.

...and the common theme is that they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He rescued them. What more are we needing, family? Whether we are wandering, hungry, thirsty, failing, in darkness, imprisoned, foolish, suffering, at work, diminished by cruel oppression, humbled by sorrow...we might call out to the Lord in our trouble, and He saves.

I know I keep saying it but I'm saying it again: His Word is for you, for today, for your country, for your people, for your suffering, for your heart.  Dwell there with me, for where else would we go?
