a beautiful search

I am too wiped to write, but I saw today that the Lord truly gave me HIS TRUTH last night.

Exchanging my perspective from my loss to looking for what He's doing made today a beautiful search...and I didn't have to look far.

Before we'd even arrived in the house we bought but had never been in, the fridge was full of food. The cabinet was full of paper plates and plasticware, the bathroom was full of toilet paper and soap, laundry soap was on the washer and dryer a new friend gave us, the two VP's at Wesley were moving furniture from the previous two president's homes into our garage and helping us with the water...professors and staff and friends from Wesley brought dinner, brought cookies, brought garden hoses and sheets for tonight and cereal, and streams....streams of neighbors, new friends, board members and their families came, one after another, to meet us, to meet our children, to welcome us.

I've never seen anything like it. We got absolutely nothing done, but HE DID. He did.

He used so many people to show us His love. To show us that He is at work. To give us some beautiful sorts of healing.

The elderly woman next door, whose husband died not long ago, fell while we were outside talking to some other new friends and hit her head.  In moments, Lily was helping her with her dog, we were helping her to her porch, we were meeting her and getting her to a chair and checking on her, and through it she asked Lily if she would please come and visit with her every day.

EVEN THAT.  Even that was a huge answer to my mama's heart for Lily needing a friend, needing a purpose, needing a ministry, and suddenly it is "Lady Jane."

The yard I have been mourning over...coming from the beautiful campus of Emmaus to a tiny brown box in the pictures...has exploded in jasmine and roses and honeysuckle, and as we start the HUGE list of things that need repaired and fixed and unpacked and moved, the rich fragrance of it all was pouring in.

His rich fragrance of grace and love was pouring in today...

Being what we need, that is His job, and He is good.

Praying that we can BE here in this place the practical love of God that SO many were today to us...and my heart was stirred over the many non-believers we chatted with.  We do not have a table yet...but we will. And may many come to see Him and know Him around it.

He worked today for me, I thank Him for His grace and rich love.

May He work still through us, He is not done. May He work through us still in Haiti, and may He continue to be at work...totally unexpectedly here.

THANK YOU for your mighty prayers today, just that we would see Him.
