refining

Left our little house of the past four weeks in Niceville at 8:30 am and just made it to our hotel in Miami at 10:30 pm after two flights and a long, but good day.

These kids just know how to do it, and make it out as best as possible. (Anyone ever need a scavenger hunt of the Charlotte airport, look me up.)

Thankful, deeply thankful for this time of family, of prayer and seeking (and finding!) and help and refining and good food and good friends and stacks of books and being MET by Him.  We were so well loved on, sacrifically, and without reason, which brought us to a long forgotten better place of dwelling in His love.  REFINING really is the word for these four weeks....our family, our marriage, our dependence upon the Lord, our seeking of His voice and heart, our perspective, our calling, our identity in Him, our faithfulness in being...not fixing.

Thankful tonight for all our bags back with us, thankful for safe flights, thankful for a hotel tonight, thankful for peaceful hearts in the middle of a lot of corona-fear today. Thankful, thankful to be listening to the kids jabber about how excited they are to be heading HOME tomorrow, and thankful with them❤️. Thank you for all those prayers.

Thankful to be His children, in His hands...which cannot be taken away...which brings such peace that passes understanding.

Faithful is He who calls us all, family...trust Him.

A few sweet moments from these last few days...

When the "tower" ran out of bubbles, someone's rebellious (innovative?) eldest children jumped the fence, opened the lock, found the solution, figured out out to refill it, and were widely celebrated by the entire park before their mother knew what was happening.
