asking Him to

The older the girls get the more they struggle with missing so many people, so this summer, I've been putting all the photos from along the way into a book, and tonight I added the last photos.  They are going to love going through all these precious memories in the years to come.

We have packed a year's worth of family and friends and food and fun into this six weeks, and as I drove five suitcases and six Ayars to Miami tonight, getting ready for our flight to Haiti tomorrow morning, it was with a rainbow overhead and a full heart.

From Sofie's birthday party at the beginning to the special tea party with Grammy this morning, it has been rich.
I'm choosing grateful for the many and much we have seen and done and enjoyed instead of allowing sad.

We need a routine again, we need to be back to eating better and better sleeping habits, we need to get out of these suitcases and KNOW where our socks are again! We need to get back to our own beds and to much work that needs to be done - that He is helping us do.

Our flight is at 11, and as I try to prepare all our hearts for another major transition, I ask Him to.  I ask Him to.

Returning to America after a year in Haiti always catches us off guard, stark and sterile and spread out and fast-paced and efficient. Retuning to Haiti after six weeks in America is always the smells and feels of home, but she tends to smack us in the face with her welcome.

Thank you for all your prayers and for the richness of your friendship and faithful love.
