a new day

I've gotta admit it's been hard to focus these couple days with all my heart and prayers and thoughts in Philly with my sister and sweet nieces!!  It is such a joy to watch them loving on each other and seeing the beauty of God doing what only God can do.
I mean, who just DOESN't want to be there right now?  So precious.

We've had a GREAT two days of classes, the girls are happily back in school, and it's just been a REALLY busy week following up from board meetings, catching up from the days missed during the shutdown, readjusting to the girls being back in school, etc, preparing for another season of visiting professors...

There have been many stretching, and many sweet moments.

Tomorrow, Martin and Sharon, along with their son and his fiancé, come to Haiti for a few days! There are not a lot of people coming to Haiti right now, and we're SO glad THEY are! This is Kate's first trip, so it's going to be a busy few days getting her out and about, and trying to get some good time with them! This weekend we'll have some time with them at the beach, then they'll beach a few more days before Martin, Isaac and Kate head home, and Sharon comes back to spend a good week on the homefront...we're so ready for some good, nourishing time with them.

We're also gonna Ayars-adventure-up the Citadel (adventure has been quite the theme lately :) on Thursday, getting Ben and Nora there for the first time!  Whew!  The adult/child ratio is good...we got this!

Meanwhile, today was Mardi-Gras, with an Emmaus call to continue to be in prayer:

Please pray for beautiful Haiti this Mardi Gras, that a new day would dawn. Pray that the life-giving, freeing Gospel would take root in peoples lives and GROW. Pray that the love and grace the Gospel exemplifies would be exemplified in the lives of Haitian believers. Pray that those who have been waiting and waiting on something better before turning to Christ would come to realize that He IS the something better they have been waiting for. Pray that in struggle, Haiti would find Him. Pray that in hardship and hopelessness, the church would shine brightly. Pray that in a day given to the carnal ties that bind and lead to destruction, people would choose life and His Lordship, instead. God is at work in Haiti, He is not finished nor tired. #prayforhaiti
