update from Emmaus

Despite hurricanes and nightmare travel planning, all four weeks of "Intensive" courses are now complete, with over 100 Haitian men and women working through courses such as Islam and the Christian Faith, Inductive Bible Study, and Discipleship and Evangelism, and two different Master's level courses. Five different visiting professors as well as several professors here on the ground joined us for this first month of school, and we are so thankful for their expertise, experience, passion and sacrifice!

Now, we are on to residential courses, eleven weeks of more in-depth study of languages, Old and New Testament Surveys, youth ministry, missions, preaching, etc.  Thank you for your prayers as we persevere through hurricane season and extreme heat, digging deep and finding Him Faithful!

Are all the incoming students sponsored?
Not by a LONG shot.  We have so many students (both in first year and in second year!) who still need scholarships to supplement their 20% tuition costs. If you are interested in providing a scholarship in ANY amount for a student here at Emmaus, we'd LOVE to introduce you!  Give here for students in most need, or email us to partner with a specific student!

What's going on with Italy?
Little by little the bird makes it's nest, says a popular Haitian proverb, and this huge undertaking is no exception.  We are two transit visas and two thousand dollars short of Rujerry and Jean William heading out on EBS's first missions trip to minister to refugees from West Africa in Italy.

Please be praying for God to OPEN doors regarding their transit visas (visas required to travel through the countries necessary to arrive at their final destination) and for God to provide the final $2000 needed to send them.

So far, 16 individuals and 6 different Haitian churches have given to this outreach!
If you want to be a part of this powerful and precious kingdom-building opportunity, please give here and include ITALY in the memo.

If you have questions, we'd LOVE to help.  Due to the nature of who they'll be ministering to, security issues have forced us to remove many of the details regarding this trip from online...but we'd LOVE to catch you up through email or over the phone.

As we all work together to make Him known all around the world today, we praise the Lord.
Thank you for being a part of people here at Emmaus...for the transformation of Haiti, and the world.
