suitcases, speaking, updates...

The whirlwind has finally caught up with this super-woman and now I am just super-sniffy and super-tired.  SO glad to have Matt back with us, and to have Grammy and Pop-Pop able to help us out some with the girls as we prepare for speaking in lots of places this summer.

We're staying at Matt's parents for a few days as they spend their last few days in Delaware before moving to Florida July 5th (picture what the house looks like...yikes!)  The drive to Lisa's is just over an hour, so we're bopping back and forth, enjoying so much good family and friend time.

Matt's time in England was rich and deep...he SO enjoys working alongside men and women who are digging deep into God's Word and who have similar nerd brains.  (There is probably a better way to say that, but you know what I mean if you've ever asked Matt: "So, what are you doing your Doctorate in?")  He loves that academic atmosphere, and the rest, focus, feeding, and iron-sharpens-iron he found there was such a gift.

Meanwhile, we're finalizing power points (the missionary slide-show of 2014) and preparing photo displays for our speaking "tour" this summer, and getting excited to see so many of the strangers-turned friends-turned family at Cornerstone Church in Bear, DE.    This is such a caring and praying church, and being with them is always a MEGA encouragement to our little family.

Going back through our photos from the past year to prepare our presentation has been really good for us, as well.  The Lord showed His mighty hand and His great love so many powerful ways this past year, and scrolling back through those testimonies is reminding us of just that.

To close, I've shared two hilarious Lily-ism's on FB the last two days I'll share here in case we're not FB friends...

Grateful for you each!!

Lily, meeting up with all the neighborhood kids at Grammy Barbara Archer Ayars and Pop-Pop Keith Ayars's house:

Girls: "We've got a new puppy! Do you have any pets?"
Lily: "Yeah, I live in Haiti. We have a big Doberman, and a cat!"
PopPop: "and, tell them about your goats, Lily! Lily has GOATS!"
Girls: "Ooooo!"
Lily: "Yeah, we do. We've got lots of goats. But, last month we killed three of them, because we had a big party!"
Girls: s-i-l-e-n-c-e and horrified dropped jaws
PopPop: "WELL, let's go check out them bikes!"

Yet another testimony of having farm kids in a non-farm family

Coming downstairs this morning, Matthew I. Ayars was doing a puzzle with Lily and Sofie. Being color-blind, he was having a hard time with the pink sky in the puzzle, many of the pieces still flipped upside down, and he couldn't tell the difference between the gray back and the pink sky front.

When I came down, Lily looked at me and shook her head.

"Mom, it's REALLY hard doing puzzles with a blind colored man."
