And here I am, watching my students take their last English two quiz before final exams next week.
Crazy.
Crazy the amount of time God has given me with each of them...crazy that that time is now drawing to a close. Crazy how this random group of 15 strangers from all corners of Haiti and with a rainbow of stories have become a class, a family.
When you hear Jorgia's story tomorrow, you'll understand just why that has been so important.
Just like many young people overseas, some of these HAVE no other family. Not really. Know no other Christians. Have no spiritual support. No encouragement.
And now they have each other.
It's just one of the many things that God DOES through EBS, and the only reason I'm talking about that this morning is because I'm praising Him this Monday that God has done that for ME through EBS.
Made 70 strangers FAMILY. Spiritual support. Encouragement.
The way Giselaine comes back each Sunday night and heads to our house...because she missed the girls, because she wants to tell us about her weekend, because Matt is her son and she wants to know he is well.
The way Napo risks the jaws of death (Boone) to bring us the BEST kind of mango because he knows we love them.
The way the girls run next door to see if their neighbor can come out and play.
The way the students desire more...work hard in class...are dedicated...joke. Are so grateful, even just for a little bit of English.
The way Claudin comes in every single morning from his office next door, just to acknowledge that we are both there, both working, both well.
The way the girls rejoice when Gertha comes in and kiss me and hustle me towards the door. The way she is endlessly patient. The ways she knows their little quirks and moods and personalities SO well, like a mother.
I don't feel well and there is a lot to do and yes, it is Monday.
But when we look for ways His hand is IN IT, we see Him, don't we.
Stop and Look this Monday morning...what do you see? Count the ways...
