Thursday morning, Junior brought this guy to the house for the girls to play with.
And they were thrilled. Let it grab onto pencils, and named it, watched how fast it would crawl.
Then insisted that Gertha cook it for them.
Welcome to the difference between MY upbringing in Ohio and Lily and Sofie's upbringing in Haiti.
Add in the Ayars gene that causes people to go a little crazy with excitement at the thought of eating crab? Poor Pinch didn't stand a chance.
I do not understand.
One of the girls very favorite past-times is making gak. And I know what you're thinking...get the girls some clothes.
Gak ruins clothes. And today is 96 degrees.
Then last night, we all got dressed up and headed next door for the Heckman party.
WHO sent me this awesome shirt? (It says "Coffee Before Talkie" :) I don't know who it was from, but I LOVE it, and it totally completed my "grouchy morning Stacey" costume.
Lily wanted to be a cat so badly, and with a hot glue gun and a black t-shirt grandpa left behind...
Sofie, of course, just wanted to be whatever Lily was.
Noel and Ephriam, of course, had no idea what in the world any of us were doing. But still thought it was fun.
Ethan and Haylie went all out making such a fun party for the kids...doesn't Ethan's facial hair totally suit him??
The did a craft and played some games and had an all around fantastic time!!
Today it was Matt's turn to preach in chapel, my turn to try to get all the seminary books closed for October (oh, goodness) and when I got home, Lily, Sofie and Asheline were giving Micheline a run for her money :) I think they're still a bit hopped up on candy from yesterday.
The best news, however, is that we have family coming tomorrow!
This is still my all-time favorite photo of Dodo and Bubba with the girls...
When Lily just saw it, she said, "Look! Dodo and Bubba when they were young!" :)
After living next door for a few years to help us take care of visitors, they are dearly missed. We had a GREAT time at their place for a week this summer...
...and we're so glad they're coming to ours!
Yay fun!! hey both look so adorable, and WAY TO GO on costumes...you are a very creative lady miss Stacey :) I'm so thrilled someone sent you that shirt...someone was paying attention :-) Praising God for thoughtfulness like that!
