It's obvious I've returned to the land of little-to-NO-internet :) Haven't been able to update since my return. I got home safely Monday evening at 5:30, only about 13 hours after leaving home in Columbus, which I must say, is some kind of record.
It is FABULOUS to be back with the girls and with Matt, who was sick most of the time I was gone and continues to be. I missed them and they missed me!
Meanwhile, Lily had her school Christmas party yesterday, some of her friends have invited her to their final school Christmas pageant today, my final grades are due Friday (which means some major grading between now and then!), and my dad plans to arrive Saturday!
We're gonna get Matt better, gonna finally give Gertha a few weeks off, I'm gonna stay away from the office as much as I can, we're working on catching up with some good friends we just haven't had much time with, and in another day or two, I'm pulling Dodo and Bubba's turkey out of the freezer to thaw for Christmas dinner!
Being away from my normal life reminded me greatly how blessed my normal life IS. Very thankful to have these few weeks off from daily ministry at the seminary to have extra time for some of the relational life-on-life ministry I've been missing--ministry with the girls, with Matt, and with friends and family!
Yay Christmas time...my favorite time of year!! We are praying for Matt to get well quick, and safe tavels for your dad :) MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
ReplyDeleteJust in case you're wondering (and if you have oven bags), you can cook the turkey frozen. We did on Thanksgiving and it saved a lot of pains! :) Just a tip. Ours was 12 lbs and we cooked it 4.5-5 hours at 350.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, glad you've made it safely home. Must be the season for husbands to be sick (mine is as well), so I'll be praying both feel better soon. Merry Christmas.
