Blessed...

...to have a full-time family living next door to live and work and pray alongside us.  What a joy to have children for our children, what a gift to have another mom to share the load with and lots of moments of "I GET YOU, YES!", what a blessing to have someone who IS mechanically minded messing with the  mechanics, throwing the football, watching man movies.
Believe it or not, but two of these children are both 1 :)

...to have McLaughlin International email US and give us a really great price on shirts for the staff...Free!  We have 25 staff shirts heading our way right in time for the start of the school year, and I know this seems like a small thing, but...we've never HAD staff t-shirts, or anything for that matter that celebrates all of the hard-work, time and prayer that our staff has poured into EBS.  We're so grateful!  Thank you, McLaughlin, and Kristin, for tracking us down and following up with this very generous gift!

...to have accepted 9 new students for the first year class.  Thirteen applied, but with the administrations focus on accepting disciples, not just students, nine have been asked to join us.   It's always exciting for me, in a country of so many truly nice people who have just entirely missed, rejected, or watered down or picked through the Gospel to meet and align our lives with 9 men and women who HAVE it, GIVE it, and WANT Him more.

...to have in our lives 3 hard-working, wise, trustworthy, God-loving women working with our kids.  Micheline is at home for this semester on maternity leave, but Gertha and Noel just constantly bless us with their care of girls, with their spirits, and with their work ethics.  They are ON time.  They stay late.  They drop what they're doing to play Barbie.  They have Godly attitudes.  I'm just so blessed to have them as my friends and to have this chance to live life integrated with them AND to have the awesome opportunity to be life-on-life encouraging them in their walks with our Lord...and to be encouraged BY them!
Noel, Kerline (Maxi's wife), Gertha, Micheline, and Gertha's baby Thalia

...to have met yesterday with some past students of the Saccanville Evangelical English Program that I did before Sofie was born.  They are plugged into churches, working in various ministries, and using their English in lots of quite random ways, and to this day I am still so thankful to have had that opportunity to share the transforming Gospel with SO MANY young members of the community and see so many of their lives changed, and still changing, because of it!

...to have a great opportunity this upcoming Sunday for an adventure to come alongside a past student who is planting the Gospel with perseverance in a difficult zone.  More soon...

...to be loved by Him, found in Him, and to have all that I need from His hand.

  1. Thank you, Stacey for your blog, especially your post on Sunday! Mary Friedeman told me that you and I are "kindred spirits." I have a 1 and a 3 year old. (btw, I went to WBS on campus while your Matt was online.)
I'm glad to re-discover your blog! Mary sent me the link.
