It's 11:05 pm and I've been up since 3:30, so we're gonna make this short!
Today and yesterday just couldn't have gone smoother. All our bags, all our flights, all our shuttles, everything went just as planned, and for only a coffee and a donut we were able to bribe our bags onto the same flight we were on, meaning only ONE trip to the airport today. (and that's how it's done, folks!)
We got all the groceries needed for the team, got home in record time, the seminary was having a work day and we got to catch up with all kinds of really dear friends, Lily was downright THRILLED to be home and has been clapping her hands and sighing, "I'm SO happy to be in my Haiti home!" all day. She is especially thrilled to be back with Az, Gid and Biga, and Sofie is hanging right at the end of the kid crowd, determined to be a part.
Thanks SO much due to Sam and Cam, we came back to WAY less of a mess than normal...rat traps already set, food in the fridge, internet, electricity, dogs fed and happy, water...that all has just NEVER happened for a homecoming!
We visited with friends, unpacked, caught up, dusted and mopped throughout the day, and then once we got two very happy and exhausted girls down tonight, spent a few hours in the kitchen with Cammie making tuna salad, egg salad and coleslaw for the team tomorrow. There is a lot to still do to finish getting settled in, but it doesn't all have to be finished before our new friends come, and we're having too much fun catching up with our old friends to worry much!
Thank you, thank you for all your prayers, for your love for our family and for all your help and support! Lots to share soon!
Glad you made it back safely!
