While we've been blessed so many GOOD things these past two weeks in the States, school starts Monday and it's time to go home!
We've learned a lot these last two weeks...Ashton and Demi Moore broke up, what gluten is, where my grandparents now live, how to use Pinterest, Chocolate Moose Tracks ice cream may be my new favorite, that 2012 is an election year, that Dora's icing skin tone didn't need nearly so much orange, that Lily and Sofia will both play for as many hours as possible at McDonald's Play Place, and were able to catch up with lots of good friends and good family.
Sofie got her shots (sigh of relief), Matt is in a rare Lance Armstrong category of health, Lily's new best friend is Lydia, Matt and I got to go on a real date, we are loaded back up with Crystal Light and diapers and Aunt Patty gifts, we got to spend time with our rapidly growing nephew, we laughed-till-we-cried through the second season of Modern Family, and while we NEVER thought we'd say it after only a few weeks...we feel rested and excited about His work and ready to get back at it with Emmaus!
My prayer four weeks ago was that the Lord would somehow work a miracle and take all of the health issues and stress away from Matt, give Him rest, and somehow excite his heart for His work in Haiti.
He has truly answered that prayer of mine, with Matt telling me ten times in the last three days, "I'm excited! Let's go!"
Matt also had a great meeting this afternoon with the chairman and a member of EBS's board, and that was a great encouragement and motivator, too! To top off all the great news, Uncle Don is meeting us in Florida tomorrow and flying into Haiti with us for about 10 days! Every start of the semester we seem to be hit with an overwhelming amount of maintenance issues, and he's coming to help us get the new semester started well! (and with water!)
Thank you Lord and thank you each for your phone calls, emails, pizza, Skype chats, Christmas gifts, coffee, and MOST, FOR YOUR PRAYERS.
Faithful is He who calls us. 1 Thess. 5:24
Awesome to hear that you guys got so much R&R. :)
ReplyDeleteWhy did you need to find out about gluten? Tricky little protein isn't it?
So glad that the time at home provided rest and answers. Safe travels as you return to be lights for Him!!
ReplyDeleteLove you all..
