different

Just like everywhere else in Haiti, we're having some electricity/generator problems.
Just like other schools, we're teaching by the light of the day.
Just like every front porch in Haiti, we're catching up in Creole.
Just like the ti-mouns playing outside the front gate, the students are always teasing each other.
Same as the mothers in muddy yards all around, the cooks are picking the bugs from the beans this morning,
and like 25 year old men around the globe, the guys are already talking about lunch :)
There may be a lot of things at Emmaus Biblical Seminary that are just like everywhere else in Haiti,
but this morning,
listening to how the students speak to each other,
watching professors pour over the Word of God with eager eyes all on them,
swaying to the bold praises radiating from the chapel,
experiencing staff and students living and speaking in a way totally foreign to the world around,
I'm grateful that there are a lot of things that are VERY different.

  1. Rejoicing with you that there is a difference at Emmaus! Makes me want to invest in what's going on.

  2. We're going through The Truth Project and one of the main questions is Do you act like what you believe is really real? Do we really truly act like there is a God? Do we truly act like there is OUR God?
