We spent the day at a retreat center for annual staff retreat. Everyone from the night watchmen to the director to our visitors were there, enjoying some good vision casting, a large Haitian meal, an hour in the pool and some good time together. I always feel so blessed when everyone is together to be a part of such a special group.
The half of our team from the city stayed away from the water, unable to swim and afraid to. The half of our team from Saccanville (a few blocks from the bay) ALL swam. Lily was happy to be the go-between :)
Everyone had a good time, and was grinning the whole time...until of course, I took out the camera for our staff photo!
Everyone's been oriented...everyone's had retreat...it's time to get the school year going!
Praying for a great Year!
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteWe're a family of four (wife, husband, and two daughters) and we plan to be living in Haiti in two years. We have just moved to Tacoma, WA to be trained and sent-out through our church. We are friends with Jay Kelley (I believe he came and spoke at OMS recently) and some other missionaries living in Cap-Haitien. Cap is the city we intend to live in as well and so hope to be connected with your family for encouragement and friendship, especially since we have kids about the same age. We've been corresponding with Heidi and were trying to come visit Haiti as a family this Jan or Feb but OMS was totally booked and so we'll try for next year. Anyway, long story short, we have so many questions about life in Haiti as we are preparing to move there and would love to start talking with someone and have the opportunity to ask our questions and hopefully make some headway. My e-mail is naomi090@gmail.com. Thanks so much! In Christ, Naomi
