sounds of peace

Honking horns and screaming women were the presidential announcement for Matt and I yesterday evening.  Saccanville, the students and Haiti is excited to finally have a new president named, and to see that the person they wanted and voted for DID win, which is not always the case.  You can read more about it here, from CNN.

No matter how we may or may not feel about this decision, it feels awfully good to have peaceful music and happy voices surrounding our home this morning instead of black smoke and rioting.  After a tumultuous 5 political months, it is nice to NOT be worrying about students on the road, incoming teams, traveling, stocking up on propane and food, etc.

Haiti is tired of rioting and of tragedy and anxious to celebrate and to enjoy peace...anxious to have hope for some change.   As ever, NOW is the time to be sharing The Light at the end of the tunnel.
