wedding week

It has been a WHIRLWIND few days!  A week ago we were "locked down" in Saccanville, sweating, teaching, following hourly election updates and dreaming about ice cream...today we're freezing, running around to Target, then Wal-Mart, then a different Target, Office Depot, looking for last minute wedding needs, driving through Wendy's, planning airport runs.

A rather miraculous woman, in just four hours, turned my previous maid-of-honor (I just cannot be old enough to be a "matron"...please) dress, which fit perfectly this summer, into a NEW dress, which now can include Sophie or Ben AND zip at the same time.  Made me and my inability to re-attach a button feel LAME.  Lily's dress was also fitted today, and she LOVES it...twirls and twirls and won't stop staring at herself in the mirror.

Matt, Lisa and Adam have put all the finishing touches on the ceremony, my dad got in safely last night, most family and friends come in tomorrow with a final few runs to the airport on Saturday, and Lily, who is THRILLED to have Grandpa and Aunt "Sheesha" to play with, has been SUCH a trooper while we ran all around Denver yesterday and today.  I am trying not to pack on the pounds until AFTER the wedding, but man, it is good to have pickles and mom's chili in the fridge, candy cane ice cream in the freezer and a Starbucks next door.  (have you HAD their peppermint mocha? oh man)

All reports from home have been good...the students and staff had a GREAT Christmas party yesterday evening (we HATED missing that!) and the political situation seems relatively stable while the people await news of "what now."

Lily continues to remind us each evening to pray for "Gertha...FanFan...Abel...Jacob and Josephine" and so we continue to live the Ayars life...hearts in two countries at once.

Pictures soon!
