una pequeno vacaciones

That may, or may not mean (high school and college Spanish was a complete waste on me), "A Small Vacation."  A bit spur of the moment, Hannah, Julie, Matt, Lily and I are getting out of town for a few days, Lord willing, for a short vacation.

We worked through what was supposed to be our retreat, with no other teachers available due to the rioting and a lot of classes to be taught.  Then, through most of Thanksgiving for similar reasons.  I closed out 'month end' for the books today, and we're both giving tests on Friday.  The Hubeles are here to hold down the fort and feed the cat and dog...all is covered!

Julie and Hannah have been working the cholera clinic almost literally 24/7 for over a week now, and are both exhausted and in dire need of stepping away.  They smell like bleach.  All the time :)

And Lily has been playing hard non-stop since the moment Josephine and Jacob got here yesterday :)

SO, tomorrow after our classes and a few hours in the office, we're going to "jet over" (hopefully it will be that easy) to the Dominican for the weekend for NO cholera, NO classes, NO politics, and a 'resort' that promises 'all you can eat, whenever you can eat it' (with no dishes to be done) a beach, and an ocean, for $47 per person WITH your room.  John and Dorothy have stayed there before, too, so we feel more confident that this will be less of an adventure and more of a break.  Hopefully.

I believe we'll have some internet access to keep you posted, but we'd love your prayers for safe travel, NO problems, NO more morning sickness or vomiting, NO adventures and a true rest as a family with good friends and with the LORD.

Most of the rest of our mission family are heading to Port-au-Prince tomorrow in an effort to obtain residency visas, a complicated, slow and difficult process (we've been working on getting, and actually HAVING ours IN our hands for most of the time we've lived in Haiti!)  In light of the current political situation, especially in the capital, the trip might be extra exciting...please be praying for safety, smoothness, and sweet success!
