My first thought when I woke up this morning to the sound of complete silence was, "Oh man...what if all this political stuff messes up Lisa's wedding???"
It is easy to forget that the world does not revolve around our little corner of it :)
An announcement from the government yesterday afternoon had everyone quite content on a day that violence and rioting was expected. The RETRACTION of that announcement last night launched us back into Haiti chaos. You can try to follow what's happening with the election here:

or at any time by getting on CNN.COM and typing "Haiti" into the search engine.
Meanwhile, we'll be hanging tight, teaching, trading Lily back and forth because Gertha can't leave her home either, and praying for peace! Matt and I are the only teachers here today and none of the rest can come in. Please be praying for Matt while he tries to cover as many classes as possible as that most of our students are here. Please be praying for safety for our staff, students, friends and family.
Hello Stacey,
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you rememeber me. I live in Zanesville, Ohio. I brought vanilla from Haiti for Lily's babyshower. Anyway, I want you to know how much I love reading your posts. I returned form Haiti last month, I was with the girls @ Hope and teaching @ Faith Academy. I feel another connection to Haiti through you. I am sorry you are having such tough times right now. Please know I am praying for your family, community and all of Haiti.
