This is the first internet we have had in over 24 hours, and it is GOOD to be able to hear from you and to get a quick look at the news...PAP is only 100 miles away, but because of no phones and no internet, no one has much idea what is going on aside from what one can imagine and little bits of news by word of mouth.
We are feeling the heavy urgency to help, and are doing all that we can today to help those He has put in front of us who are hurting and afraid. No word from Lucner, though I don't know how there could be, but we are praying tonight that he is safe and has found his brother.
We are praying and seeking the Lord as to how we can best help, as are so many of you. Please continue to do so.
Tonight as the staff and students gathered to pray in the cafeteria, Lily woke up and I walked outside with her. As I stood there in the rainy pitch black, a billion perfect stars overhead and the strong voices of our students singing out to the Lord, hands raised in agony, in praise, in need, all at the same time, I felt His presence. That's all.
Genesis 1:1-3...In the beginning there was nothing. There was nothing but darkness and void, and the Spirit of God hovered over the deep...
Tonight, on this tiny island that we love, there is nothing but blackness and VOID. But the Spirit of God, He hovers over our deep despair tonight.
Waiting for His voice, resting in His presence.
You are truly in our thoughts and prayers! It is one thing to hear of a foreign disaster and pray but it is truly another to have it be in a place where you have been seven times. I hear of collapsed buildings on Delmas and know I have been there. I see churches, shops and buildings collapsed where I have been. I am so burdened at this time with a need to pray and feel helpless that I cannot do more. Someone just said on CNN that with our help and prayers the Haitian people can come through this stronger than ever and I truly believe God can work miracles. Keep up the good work you are special!! Love, Sue

Therefore people like Lesa and myself, rely on people like you to keep us informed and to remind us of the great need for prayer, care and compassion. God will hear our cries and He will provide.
Genesis 3:21 "and the Lord God clothed Adam and his wife with garments made from skins of animals."
God saw their needs and provided for them.
May God continue to strengthen all of you and hold you tightly in His loving embrace.
