Hey dear ones asking for updates, thank you for praying.
Last night we hosted the Wesley Biblical Seminary faculty and staff Christmas party, and I'm so thankful for this precious group of men and women, sowing the Gospel, WELL. I said we were going to do it, and I'm so thankful we did, despite a million reasons not to. Loving on others is a gift, and I've missed so many services and special events this necessary season...this was my first chance to jointly sing Christmas hymns this year. So sweet.
Parts of the rupture have fused with Nora's colon, so they decided not to remove the port last Friday, but instead to watch for returning symptoms or for Nora to fight off the residual infection on her own. She has NOT respiked her fever, pain or nausea, praise the Lord. Friday we go in for yet another CT scan and hopeful removal of her port. We need to get moving on getting the ruptured appendix and abscess separated from her colon and removed so infection doesn't set in again, and we can't do that 'till we get past this stage.
Then, we start fighting to get the next surgery/ies covered by our insurance on our own due to their refusal to work with the ONLY children's hospital in the state of Mississippi, or figure out how to move future medical care to a children's hospital in a surrounding state. Tonight, both of these feel like more time, effort and energy than I have. So, we will trust the Lord for what is needed, when.
Friday dad started immunotherapy, a different form of chemo which we are praying might help some. He started it with very little energy and continues to be wiped, which they said is to be expected....thank you for continuing to pray for him, lift him up, and reach out.
As I trust the Lord with Nora and Dad, I trust Him with our bonus girls as well, as they head to court in less than a week with a family who loves them and will always be here for them...but calls no shots and has no say.
Lots of trusting.
I have proved Him, o'er and o'er.
Grateful for you.
Father God, move in behalf of your love for this family. Your care for them. I ask you give them the answers they ask if you. Amen.
