updates

Matt's been in Telluride, Colorado for a few days, and mama's been holding down the fort (like, Davy Crockett, last of the Alamo style).  We've been schooling our hearts out, doing all the preschool/Latin/gymnastics/small group/friend runs in between, and looking for all the little graces...Kate babysitting so I could have my Monday night church meeting, Grammy making dinner for our Sunday Night Family Dinner before she left early Monday morning, sitting with other mamas in the sunshine on Ms. Mary's porch while the girls have Latin, sweet moments with each of the kiddos, and some stretching ones, too.

Once Nora finishes school (always before the older girls) it is her job to entertain Ben while the rest of us work. This usually results in GREAT fun and huge messes...not unlike today:

Tonight was Lily's first ever "Winter Ball", a homeschool function for 7-12th graders, with almost 300 kids registered!  She went with all of our small group kids, good brothers to keep an eye on her for me :). I hated Matt not being here, but we made it all work (and I'm not gonna lie, I'm glad this is over because I'm not sure how many more conversations about Winter Ball I could handle :).  There are a LOT OF THINGS TO SAY when you're 13 and excited, even when ridiculous-fake-math-teacher Mom makes you wear tights and take a sweater.

She'll be home soon, and I can't wait to hear how it went.

Thank you for your prayers for dad, who is continuing to do this round of chemo from Florida, every Friday. They are trying to get him to the right point for surgery, which involves killing the cancer enough that it doesn't pop up other places while he is recovering from the surgery, but not killing it so much that he's not strong enough to undergo the surgery.  Because no one is sure exactly when that point will be reached, he continues to do rounds of Friday chemo and lots of tests so they can get him to the right point. He is handling the chemo mostly well and is golfing this week and thankful to be out of Ohio weather for a few weeks.

My brother is continues to desperately need prayers and the Lord and His transformation...thank you for asking and for praying.

Grateful for you.
