So what do we do?

 As I've been working with Dr. Guenson, the president of Emmaus University, this week, I've been so blessed to have that question, "What in the world do you DO?" that I've had in my mind the last few days answered so powerfully by the men and women of Emmaus.  Please join us in focusing October 29, 30 and 31 and November 1st on prayer for Haiti, on being on the front battles lines on our knees.

Dear Friends, I am sure you have heard how Christian ministries have been the target of gang activity these days in Haiti. Four Sundays in a row, bandits entered four different evangelical churches in Port-au-Prince and killed a deacon, kidnapped pastors and terrorized church members. As you know, 17 missionaries and their children are still being held ransom by one of these gangs today.  We know spiritual warfare well here in Haiti, but this is all very shocking, disturbing and heavy.  At Emmaus, we are not afraid. The very minute we each received God's call to minister here in Haiti, we knew it would not be easy. But these days our faith is really being tested. We continue to hold firmly to Jesus as our protector and friend, and we will not move. We will not close. We will not quit. We will stand our ground. We have the very precious souls of people to watch over, to shepherd, to disciple. We have tens of thousands of people throughout Haiti who are looking to the pastors, evangelists, teachers, and community leaders of Emmaus. Through faith in Jesus and by His grace, Emmaus is a light in an island of utter chaos...her men and women are lights in the darkest night. So what do we do? What can we do? We are fighting back. We rise to battle the devil and his army and his laborers. We fight on our knees to snatch back from Satan's dirty hands the young men he is using with the young men and women our powerful God is using.  This is why more than 200 churches in Cap-Haitian are using our voices to cry out to the Lord through prayer and fasting for 3 consecutive days, October 29, 30, and 31. On November 1, the people of God in the north will march around the city and boldly ask God to intervene. We need your help. Please join us these four days in fasting and praying! Please join us these four days on your knees! Please fight with us against the kingdom of darkness! Please intervene with us, on Haiti's behalf, on behalf of all who are suffering, on behalf of all the 600+ victims of kidnapping and their families in Haiti since January, on behalf of our brothers and sisters here! Ten dollars buys one of our 150 staff or students a t-shirt for the prayer march,or your gift of any amount designated towards this effort ("days of prayer") will help with transportation, sound, renting the city auditorium, etc.  Thank you for joining us in this fight. Thank you for partnering with Emmaus on the frontlines of raising up and sending out Christ-like leaders for change. I know this battle, long and hard fought, has already been won at Calvary.
