Tonight a fantastic small group of five couples who have been meeting, sharing and praying together for FIFTEEN YEARS invited our family to have dinner with them, and it was so precious. What they have all come through in fifteen years is overwhelming...and the way the Lord has shown up for each other through each other is just powerful.
I loved sitting among them and listening in, loved that they invited us, and I am adding to my personal prayer list the image of having long-standing, faithful, iron-sharpens-iron, praying friends like these men and women do. Our children had the best of times, too, playing with vintage toys and new pets, and being loved on by Mr. Teddy and Ms. Maribeth, the friends who unexpectedly explored New Orleans with us and are becoming family!
Tomorrow morning we're driving to Gatlinburg to spend Easter with my sister, Adam, dad, Cindy, and four nieces. We are so looking forward to being together and to having the kids together. We saw the girls at Thanksgiving, but MAN they are growing and changing so fast...thankful for this chance to all be together and for good time with Matt away from work before we head into these next few weeks apart.
If the girls get their wish, pictures of bears soon :)
