As always, lots has happened since we last talked! It's been a good good week with lots of good work. The school year has started well, I spent lots of time getting headshots for student badges, collecting student testimonies (which is still my favorite thing to do) homeschooling, getting the girls ready for Haitian school to start on Monday! (which has included an awful lot of friends popping by "before school starts!), we had field council meetings on Wednesday and the team threw Ben a little baby shower, and finishing off summer newsletters.
Matt was thrilled to get this little onesie for Ben from Kacie at the shower :) He's been wanting some baby-Eagle wear something awful!
Not as badly, however, as the girls have been wanting a new cat. Sweet Pauline, one of our friends that works in the kitchen, heard that the girls were devastated over their own cat dying, and brought the girls her kitten, who has been dubbed Edmund.
Lily has been blissfully happy, and Nora has not let the poor thing breathe yet.
It seems to know that there is no point fighting all the toddler love.
Meanwhile, Carol and Rick headed home on Tuesday, though we tried yet again to steal their passports. So thankful for these long-time friends in our lives, always so faithful to come and help and come and help and come and help.
Tonight Matt and the girls were playing tag and I did a quick tower climb for the view that never fails to be breathtaking. God sure planted Emmaus in a lovely spot, and sure planted us in a lovely spot at Emmaus.
Matt and I have two more weeks before we both add teaching to the days, so he's trying to get lots of administrative stuff done before then and I'm trying to collect lots of stories from the student's summers and student testimonies before the days fill even more so! This weekend we're joined by another visiting professor and f-i-n-a-l-l-y by the Edlers...the girls are SO excited, and so are we, and so looking forward to finally meeting baby Jacob, who's almost a year old already!
Thank you for all those lovely prayers, and please continue...
As you pray, would you add baby Judah (just had major skull surgery), baby Calvin (dealing with fevers and seizures) and Jonas and Carmel (just lost their 6th baby during pregnancy yesterday). I am so comforted that God knows and is there and active, in each of those situations.
Matt's got a major preaching weekend coming up (2 services, one from 6:30-10 am and one from 11 am-1 pm) so we're gonna have our rest on Saturday this weekend! Thank you for your prayers...we cherish them!
