Yesterday we all walked a mile down the road to our village church, and it was a true joy to be back to worshipping with these believers. The worship was so good...we've missed it, and for some reason Psalm 50 really hit home with me during our corporate reading...Our God comes and will not be silent...
It is common for worship leaders to share the phrase, "If it were not for God's grace, we would not be here this morning," but for all the times I've heard it, that reminder really struck me as TRUE yesterday. Perhaps I'm just feeling incredibly reliant on Him right now for each step and breath and path, but it seems pretty obvious that the only thing that has carried us from ALL the places we've been just the last 6 weeks, or 6 months, or 6 years, is His grace.
Singing His praise, sitting between His grace that is Lily and Sofie, watching Nora dance, new neighbors God provided behind us, Matt holding the hymnal, many friends around us, worshiping together, well, that's His grace, isn't it.
On the walk home all the families sitting in their yards were running out to see how big Madame Pastor Matt has gotten, and I didn't disappoint. Rejoicing and commenting over large-ness is such a cultural speciality :) A few more days...
We spent the afternoon in town with Janeen, the pool being the only place cool enough to spend the day, and by yesterday evening I could tell I'd overdone it...very thankful Aunt Sharon and Jen are both on their way and arriving tomorrow (Tuesday). I don't care what Matt's title is, nobody wants this Dr. Matt delivering their baby :)
Don’t underestimate Dr. Matt’s ability to deliver this baby...
